Wandiligong is a quiet community of about 552 people who work in the apple orchards and small holdings, its cottage industries and in the neighbouring districts.  Artistic talent abounds with the local historic library recently becoming the studio for a handful of extremely talented local artists.

Wandiligong is a town situated in a picturesque valley, classified by the National Trust with many clues about its history dotted throughout.


See the largest apple orchard in the southern hemisphere, visit historic buildings and the Alpine Park, or visit in early May when  The Wandiligong Nut Festival is on celebrating the nut harvest season in autumn with cooking, comedy and culture. And you cant go passed the Wandi pub without stopping in for a cold beer.

Several walks in Wandiligong show the visitor the beautiful heritage valley and its history, including the Wandi Wander, Royal Bridge Walk and The Diggings Walk with its Chinese Swing Bridge giving a hint to some of the locals of old.

Bright, perfectly nestled in the valleys of North East Victoria is an easy location for visitors from all around Australia and  overseas visitors to find their way to our colourful town.


If it’s not so much the history rather the scenery or adventure that you are interested there are numerous walking tracks up through the mountains creating magical atmospheres and views that go on for miles. Depending on the weather it’s also worth seeing the scenery from the sky with adventure activities available such asparagliding or microlight flights.With plenty  more adventure activities including kayaking, horse riding and rock climbing Bright is the ideal destination for all.


The Ovens River is a great place for all, whether you're fishing, swimming, canoeing or just relaxing on the shady banks. With quite a number of walking tracks along the Ovens River and Morses Creek you are sure to take in the beautiful scenery some way or another.

With the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail at our door step cycling plays a large part in Bright's personality.With many cycling events held through out the year Bright is a popular cycling destination. If you're not so much into competing, why not take a leisurely ride along the Rail Trail to visit some of our many cafes, wineries and farms.


Surrounded by beautiful mountains and National Parks, Bright is an all year destination. From swimming and camping at Lake Catani in the Summer to skiing and snowboarding at Mt Hotham in winter. Mt Buffalo National Park and The Alpine National Park are open to visitors all year round.
